In 1954 Scheurich founds his own ceramic manufacturing company in Kleinheubach. The company becomes one of the largest Germany manufacturers of ceramic from 1950’s to 1980’s with the largest selection of shapes and glaze. A great deal of Scheurichs success can be assigned to the designer Heinz Siery who has created a lot of Scheurich’s shapes.

The company still exists today and still produces a large selection of shapes and glazes that can be bought today.
Scheurich always uses white clay in formes and moldes with a mold-number. Most of Scheurichs’ products are marked W./ West Germany/Germ., which is written in a semi-circle and a number in the middle. And often with no company brand. The mold-mark is always written with 3 cifres and followed by the height rounded to nearest cm. The mold number and height af normally separated with '-'. Some products however does not have a mark at all – only the mold number. Here W. Germany has been omitted due to space. Other products have no mark or mold number in the base due to the glaze covering the base. And other products contain full information in the base - company brand, mark and mold. Often you find Scheurich products with stickers. And some are marked with Foreign or Europeline which it is made for export. Around 1990 the company introduced three cirkles in the middle of the base of their products.
